Part of the recreation is a recreation of one of the sailing ships dubbed the “Elizabeth 2”. The original Elizabeth was a 16th century merchant vessel, 67 feet long, 17 feet wide, that drew 8 feet of water. Built for European trade she was small for trans-Atlantic travel, but many ships of her size, and smaller, did cross the Atlantic.
